Description:

This workshop builds on the topics covered in previous sessions, and assumes familiarity with the Word 2013 interface. This session involves working with headers and footers in a document, including references and page numbers; as well as working with images and tables. Using Mail Merge to create form letters, envelopes, and labels is also covered. Prior intermediate knowledge or completion of the Word 3 workshop is required.

The purpose of a cover letter is 1) introduce yourself and your resume, as is proper business etiquette, 2) convey your abilities vis-a-vis the company's needs, and 3) intrigue the reader regarding your potential value to their organization. A well written cover letter entices the reader to learn more about you by reading your resume. In this workshop, we will discuss the different types of cover letters, and the ways you can make your skills and experience stand out. We will also discuss style, content and timing of the Thank You Note, which follows an interview.
